The Human Resource Development Program for Nuclear Regulation (ANSET-CP: Advanced Nuclear 3S Education and Training in Cyber-Physical Space)

ABOUT ANSET-CP

The Human Resource Development Program for Nuclear Regulation (ANSET-CP: Advanced Nuclear 3S Education and Training in Cyber-Physical Space) of Tokyo Institute of Technology aims to foster the next generation of experts and leaders in Nuclear 3S (Safety, Security, and Safeguards), who will be capable of ensuring reliable safety in the use of nuclear energy and appropriately responding to global nuclear crises such as nuclear disasters, nuclear terrorism, and nuclear proliferation.

For scientific safety and security, it is necessary to ensure nuclear 3S at the highest level and strongly required to prepare
・Expertise and
・Comprehensive Insight, Practical Skills, and Leadership: Response Capability to events that transcend 3S individuals.
Especially in nuclear security and safeguards of nuclear power plants, there is a strong need for not only systematic knowledge acquisition but also hands-on training such as handling of actual nuclear and radioactive materials and destructive/non-destructive analysis. In addition, response to new threats in cyber space as well as in physical space is required.

The ANSET-CP program provides the Advanced Nuclear 3S Curriculum (3S Lectures, 3S Exercises, and 3S Internship) with the mission of “Development of Human Resources Who Grasp Nuclear Security and Safeguards, and Comprehensively Understand, Practice, and Lead 3S of Nuclear Power Plants across Physical and Cyber Space”. In 2022, hands-on experiments using nuclear and radioactive materials and response exercises to new technologies and threats across physical and cyber space were enhanced and expanded in the curriculum from 2017.
